Happy Fathers Day to the best man I know! My dad means the world to me. I would not be out in the world like I am if it wasn’t for him. No matter what I wanted to do he told me to GO. He taught me that failure is ok, it only makes me stronger. He not only told me all these things but shows it in his own life. He doesn’t just preach it, he IS it. I adore my dad. I love you dad. You are my hero.

Finally! My first job in LA! I’m a personal assistant for an amazing makeup artist! I’m thrilled to be able to work for someone so great! This is actually something I like to do. Some people would be annoyed with a job like this but its my specialty :) Super excited to learn from her in the makeup industry as well! So here’s to a job that I thought I would never find!
So being that I’m a makeup artist and I like to buy new products to try out, I thought I’d throw in some reviews (pretty much just my personal opinion) on things i’ve tried and liked. I’m a big fan of buying things that work! I’m NOT a fan of buying the brand. If I can get get good quality product for a cheaper price, I’m all in!
So I dont know how many of you have noticed Boots Cosmetics coming into our local Target stores. They take up a whole side of an isle. They range from makeup to skin care, to body treatments. And some stores have a beauty advisor that sits in the isle to show people their product. I personally think its a great marketing idea.
Anyways, I bought a few things from Boots the other day. I bought their High Shine Lip gloss and some cuticle oil. Loved both products. The nice thing about the lip gloss is that its not sticky. It has good color pay off, its smooth, and the color is really pretty. I would definitely recommend buying one of the colors.
The cuticle oil was great too. Maybe its because when doing my nails I have never used it before. My cuticles always seem to be dry and so the end result of my at home manicure never looks that great. It comes in a little glass bottle, but thats plenty for a long time. You just use a little dab on each cuticle and rub it in. Not hard and doesn’t take up much time but when I’m done with my nails it almost looks like I get them done professionally because of it. It makes a world of difference on my fingers!
I hope you can find these products to be as good as I did!
So I grew up in Minnesota/Wisconsin. I was the small town girl movin to the big city. I wanted to move out so bad…there were so many things that i hated at the time. (mind you i just graduated high school). So off I went to big Chicago….then sparkling Las Vegas….and now famous LA. I’ve learned a lot. Had many ups and downs. At times wished I never did any of it and other times when I say “I would never move back”.
I just got back from visiting my family in Minnesota. (I’m the odd ball that lives on the other side of the country, currently residing in LA). If there is one thing that I have always taken with me and noticed its “Minnesota Nice”. Everywhere you go….a smile here, a friendly wave there. If they know you or not…its Minnesota nice. Its like living around a family, everyone takes care of eachother.
I remember when I first moved to Chicago and I would walk down the street trying to smile at everyone I passed and not one person would look at me. Or I would say Hi to a stranger on the street and not a word was spoken back to me. I thought “whats wrong, why dont they like me?” My small town Minnesota heart realized I had moved to a big city.
Now I’m not here hating on other cities. Dont get me wrong I love Chicago…Las Ve(oh wait not that one.) and LA. But I hold in my heart, Minnesota nice, and I never want to be rid of that. Its something I take pride in. So I guess what i’m saying is, I’m a proud small town Minnesota/Wisconsin girl that takes pride in where she came from but is happy for the growth in new places.

Happy Earth Day! Decide to change at least one thing in your daily life to help out our planet a little. Recycle, take reusable bags to the store, it doesn’t matter, just choose something…even one little thing. :)
Sam and I are off to Costa Rica today. We will be meeting up with my aunt and uncle to spend two days in the towns and jungle at a hotel next to a volcano, and then moving on to our all inclusive resort on the beach! So excited!
Its my nephew’s birthday today! He turns one today! I love being an aunt and i’m so proud to already have three amazing niece and nephews in my life. Zakary is an amazing little boy. I am so excited to watch him grow and one day come visit his tia :) He makes me wish i didn’t live so far away. Love you little man!! love, tia
Marg and I ventured out to go “hiking” today. Its a popular park/trail in the heart of Hollywood. It was a lot more outdoorsy than i thought it would be. Beautiful views on a beautiful day. We had fun! :)
